Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed
happiness in the country hosting the India-Africa Forum Summit 2015, saying it
is a reflection of a desire to engage more intensively for a better future.
Modi
had said that several African leaders had joined to engagement of summit and
made it successful
"India's
relations with Africa are historic. India is a major investor in Africa and
trade has been growing remarkably in recent years," he said in another
tweet.
Stating that many
events were being organised to promote friendship and trade, the prime minister
said that Mahatma Gandhi (Bapu) and Africa shared a close bond.
"Exhibition 'Memories of Mahatma' talks about Bapu and his connection with
Africa," he tweeted.
An India-African
business seminar would be organised from October 26 to 29 in Delhi to explore
areas of cooperation between the two sides.
